2640 John Deere injector pump

How do you bleed the injector pump on a 2640 John Deere. I can bleed at filter but I need to bleed the injector pump

It should be similiar to the pump from a 2040. It should have
two screws on the side of it. The top one shouid be a 5/16
with a retaining nut. Loosen it about 3/4 to 1 full turn. Go to
transfer pump, use leaver to pump fuel to injector pump until
you have good flow without a lot of air coming out that screw
(works best with two people but can be done by yourself).
Tighten scew down. It is possible fuel may catch at injectors
by cranking. If not crack a couple of lines at injectors and
crank until you have fuel flow.

Hope this helps!

The Stanadyne/Roosamaster rotary-distributor pump is
self bleeding. You can speed things along a
little though by cracking the injector lines AT the
injectors.
