Final round of sweet corn

Finished picking what's left of my sweet corn patch early this morning. 545 ears this time after 556 YTD earlier. So we set down and husked it and now the wife and daughter are cooking and blanching it before bagging it for the freezers.
This was the first year I ever counted the ears, just to get an idea of what an area will produce. Pretty surprised what could be raised on an acre patch if someone was going to sell corn. I don't have the location or the market like some do.

Nice looking corn. Looks like the cooking/blanching is being done in the shed. Beats heating up and steaming up the kitchen. Our microwave is right above the kitchen stove, when I started blanching I noticed the front of the microwave was covered with condensed steam so I moved it. Wife asked why, I said I don't think it's good for it getting that wet. She didn't think it mattered, not hard for me to move and I don't like taking chances like that.

Great looking haul, What variety did you plant? Where did you get the seed? We also had a good year for sweet corn this year, but our ears were quite a bit smaller. We have been having a booming year for purple hull peas though. Johnny in North East Texas.

We started selling on Sunday....I do all the picking. I figure roughly 3600 ears so far in 4 days...28 more days to go.....7 fields planted 7-10 days apart. We do bi-color only, can't sell anything else.
