Another MF 135 /MF20 question

This MF 20 with backhoe has a pto and lift arms up top. No lower arms or links but they are easy to get. None of these work---lift arms are down and the controls have no effect. The pto can be rotated by hand, engine off of course. Moving the control to engage and still can rotate the pto shaft by hand just as easy. I'm not MF person so how does it work? There is a small control by the trans dip stick. What is that for? Thanks, LB

Since you're having hydraulic and PTO issues, might want to wait until you get your manual and do some diagnostics before changing the oil.

All the components are located under the top cover, under the seat. If you end up pulling the top cover, it's a good opportunity to do some cleaning in the bottom of the sump.

You should ask on the MF forum. The control at the dipstick is the draft response control. Perhaps something is disconnected inside.
