Crop spraying sugar

I went to a field trial put on my Conklin today. They have some good products. I'm not set too run tanks when I plant so I am going to have to do some facbricaation. That's where I think I can get some of the biggest bang for my buck. Adding micronutrients of the 1760 planter should t be the end if thus workld.

The biggest surprise was that all of the guys were talking about putting sugar in with the sprayer every time they do something in the field. The goal is to feed the microbes. Are any of you adding sugar to the sprayer before you head out?

I ran some test strips years ago using Conklin products verus spending the same amount of money on extra fertilizer. Got more bang for the buck from the extra fertilizer.

I have been doing the extra fertilizer since.

If your fertility is at its best then maybe their tonics will take your yields a bit farther.

Sugars may draw in unwanted pest as well.

Hi
We did it at the seed plant I worked at for a couple years. It was a big craze then, when fertilizer prices were higher, but not sure if the guy still does it after I quit there. I know he was into all sorts of goofy potions as well for seed treatments around the same time.

When I was on the spray trailer we used about 7 25kg or so bags a fill, then pre mixed it to dissolve in a chem handler, prior to sucking it in the sprayer.
I do know if you get it in the handler and the sprayer breaks down before you use it, it will settle out and be ignorant to do anything with after a day or so. if you mix it in make sure you use it.
Thats my bad experience from trying to do something with the solid lump of sugar in the bottom of the handler. I guess it would do the same in a spray tank also if left due to bad weather for a day or so!
Good luck if you try it.
Regards Robert

Did you go to the field day in Nevada? In was there, look into the cost of adding more micros into your current fertility program. I was hoping to hear more from Kip Cullers on high yield beans and less on gaining 3 bushel from snake oil.
