Case 770 won't start after putting in new points

Hi Guys, tractor was running rough so thought I would put in new points, ect., now she won't start. Always started easily before. Point gap set at 20 per spec's but no spark at the plugs so put in a new coil too. Any ideas?

Easy way to check things is take the ignition side wire off the coil then with the ignition on touch the coil with it on and off. You should get a spark there if the points are closed but no spark if they are open. That will tell you if you have a short or dirty points

Silly question, but did you clean the point surfaces before you put them in? Only reason I ask is someone locally here did that and had no spark, cleaned the points and fired right up.

If the condenser goes bad, you can have fire at the points but none at the plugs, and new things like that can be bad in the box nowdays.

That has happened to me. Would use a points file. Or if using emory cloth run a little piece of shop cloth to get the grit out.
Sometimes if still no spark, Touch a screw driver to the rotor shaft open and short the points a few times. Should see a spark. I know this sounds like it is out of Ripley's believe it or not.
A lot of other good posts to try on here also.

When we were at vo-tech the instructor said to take a $20 and slide through the closed points to remove the film on them. Someone asked if a $1.00 bill would work.....I think it has to be a $20 LOL.
