tire ballast

silly question, but I have a small kubota B6000 its 13hp diesel, has 15inch tires in the back, question is, can filling the tires up with ballast rob HP and affect the performace of pulling/pushing? I have a front end loader on it and scraper blade on the back.

Wont affect hp.But will improve traction/performance.Your tractor will do more work and spin less.Especially under a loader.

The best ballast is located behind the rear wheels. It will transfer weight off the front tires too. I put 450# of ballast on my hoe, back hook, when I load dirt in front bucket. My terramite is only rear wheel drive and a heavy load in front bucket makes my rear wheels very light and causes the front wheels to go down in loose sand.

Weight in rear tires will not transfer weight off the front wheels. Need it behind wheels, like on 3 pt.

Fluid or wheel weights improve traction but do not hurt HP. Sed me an e-mail and I can then send you info on how to fill tires on your own. I use winter grade wiper fluid in my tractor tires. Catch it on sale and you can get it for around a buck a gal.
