pretty much.

See those two spools on the back end? I assume those are somehow attached to the tracks so they can move each side up and down independently to adjust it.

the cable on those spools goes forward throug some kind of fixture on the front end.

can you tell us more? Where is this? Why do they need to peck away at a slope like that? Road building? Or what purpose?

Thanks

I wish I could Ron, but I only stole the picture from somebody else - there was no explanation with it.

several reasons for this , rock scaling to prevent falling rock on a roadway, or scaling back to bedrock to secure footings for a dam, railroad trestle ect, i dont believe i want his job though

Reminds me of years back when I drove a friend ou to Sanata Fe that was movig there and too afraid to make the drive. We rounded the curve I think it was in Albuquerque and there as a trailer park up on a hill, and higher above it were huge boulders that if they came lose, well, not so good for the mobile homes or those living in them. What really caught my attention were the nets holdiing them in place, supposed to stop them from...

Sometimes life is more interesting and exciting than others.

There is a video on youtube in which a large industrial chimney is being taken down using a mini ex (with hammer) hanging from a crane cable. He used the backfill blade to buck against the chimney to control swinging.
