this is for sweetfeet and all the other rust lovers out there. we stopped by our local metal store today and while the old man was browsing the scrap piles, i went over and got some pics of what they call their rust garden. also took a pic of the soil in the valley, not very good, it was with my cell phone.

Rust garden photos are great!

Jennifer,How's the water situation goin out there in the valley? When I was there earlier this year they were talkin about the marginal farmers getting no water at all this year. Heard about some who weren't going to risk planting $ if they weren't sure of getting water.

Well, now that's different! In the first picture, that looks like the Tin Man from the OZ movie. Looks like he could have found a better place to retire. LOL

it's dry, dry, dry. i don't know the politics of it all, but from i understand, the dot com'rs can have all that they want, but the farmers and residents have to conserve. we have our own solar powered well, so we are not affected one way or the other.

Jennifer,

Thanks for the pics. I love it, of course.

The old stove is too cool! Love the incongruity of
the items - from old stove to huge gear, and from
the frying pan to the old tractor/implement seat!

Sometime I'll post a couple pics of my rust garden
(from last year... it's a weed patch this year,
need to get myself a Round Tuit. LOL

That RUUD stove is the first that I've seen with
that name on it, although that name is very familiar
to me. Our local Community Center here in Pahrump,
Nevada is named after Robert "Bob" Ruud who owned &
operated a local feed & seed store here years ago. I
wonder if there's a relationship between the two.
