Sealer for paver/patio blocks/stones???

I am about finished laying some patio paver/blocks around the grand kids pool. I used the mason sand I had left over from leveling under the pool. It worked fine for under the pavers. I used it to fill the cracks between the pavers too. It filled the cracks fine. I am wondering if it will track after everything settles in???

My main question, These blocks/pavers are a pretty porous concrete. Is there a sealer that I should use on them to protect them from cracking over the winter from the freeze thaw cycles????

I am also pretty tired too. I laid about 150 of the 16 inch pavers. They weight 40 lbs. each. I know I will be sore in the morning. LOL

I have used Thompson's water seal. I Haven't been impressed with it for wood because I would like more penetration, but it appears to last on concrete.

JD,
I live in centeral Indiana. I don't seal pavers or concrete squares. I've never lost any due to freezing. We had sub zero temp last winter. I don't use any type of sealer either.

I have some 16 inch concrete pavers that have been in place for almost 15 years without any problems so far. This is in Minnesota.

Some sealers can make a concrete surface slicker. For safety, I would not want a slick surface around a swimming pool. If it's an above ground pool, the pavers as-is will have no trouble outlasting the pool.

JD:

A 50/50 mix of water with Sodium Silicate (also known as "water glass" or "egg seal") will seal the pavers, it will also bond the sand grains in the joints together basically turning them into a form of mortar.

They make a paver locking sand your supposed to use after you have laid the pavers. Keeps the weeds from growing in the joint besides locking them in place. Must have something in it that effects the pavers because they say to rinse them off after watering in the mix. The benefit of pavers is that they move in the winter and don't crack because of there size. Did you run a packer over them after you had them laid? Makes them lay smoother without settling.
