Question.

On picture #2 of the Oliver 2255, what is that
small pipe going from the exhaust stack back to
the muffler for? I'm not familiar with Olivers and
haven't seen that before.

DR. Walt: That pipe doe not go back into the muffler. It goes along side of the muffler back down to the hood. If you look close you can see it under the muffler. It is a suction tube that ends up back at the air cleaner stack. It sucks large dirt/chaff/etc. out of the intake air before the air filter. It greatly increases the service life of the filters.

Some people still deny that 2455 was ever produced. I've never seen the tag,but it appears to be proof that there was at least one.

maybe for you ,,to me it is the best color of green ..oliver made a very good TUF product! ....too bad for its demise ..leveraged hostile takeovers, mismanagement, stockholder pressure ,,the swallowing of mm , oliver is a classic example of the corporate communism that is destroying the free market today ...parts from agco are rediculously high ,, imho, to create profits for stock holders, and to promote new sales , and retire older ,, and sadly. most of the time BETTER and simpler machinery to the scrapyard
