Ford 7610 3 pth bobbin'

Tractor went to shop in 2013 to fix 3pth stuck in full up position. They called twice to say it was fixed. We would go to pick it up,test it, and find it not fixed. Third time in, said it could not be fixed, filter crap stuck in valves. So 3pth bounces now. Is there a fix for this, or am I stuck with it? Tractor works ok otherwise, just can"t hang a load on the 3pth. Thanks for any help, Kent in NB.

I wonder if the lift cylinder (or the oil circuit to it) could have a leak... typically, that is the first thing to look for when a hitch "hunts".

If that is not the case, I wonder if there is some sort of sensitivity adjustment in the "draft" mechanism???

i agree.. my 7610s when i have a 10' mower on the 3pt will hunt at low rpm as cyl leakoff under 2500# load is high enough at idle to be seen.

wonder if there is a leaky check valve?

Those things were a technical marvel when they were made... and an outright SOB to set... It's not everyone's cup of tea.
The most likely cause of the correction is either a leaking lift cylinder, a leaking drop poppet valve or an incorrectly adjusted control valve. Any of the above is equally likely or a combination of the three. The latter two can be rectified fairly easily. The former... mabey not so much unless mabey you sleeve the lift cylinder.
The major trick in setting them is that you REQUIRE the load monitor adjusting tool. Where you might get that today.... chirst only knows. Last time I needed it 10 years ago I borrowed it from McGowan's... but that's long gone. I doubt you can buy that Nuday tool anymore... and all of the old dealers from the day are now gone except Kensington..
For what it's worth... my 7710 has been bobbing for quite a number of years now. I just live with it. Mine is probably in the drop poppet... and I really just don't much feel like wrestling that cover off to fix that and reset it again.
