Made up a couple pies yesterday. Limited myself to just one piece, strictly as a test.

I can hardly wait for another month or so for some fresh peaches. Everything around here is behind a few weeks....

Got out some frozen pears from last season and made pear cobbler last week after tractor show.. I had a bumper crop of pears last year.. This year it looks a bit light.. I've got 2 pear trees and they alternate crops yearly.. I tried peach trees and they kept getting blighted.. Pears seem to be more resilient to blight..

LOOKS great! I remember the mess hall dished out cobler, berry, peadh, apple. Not all at once though. I was mess checker and got to eat before the troops did. I tell the wife I would love to know the thickening they used in their cobler. Use to eat peach pie in the restruants ,heated on the grill, side dish of Ice cream,
Loved them days. Regards
LOU
