o/t Home town Stonehaven

We visited our hometown a couple of weeks ago, it was a lovely evening for some seaside pictures. My wife and I both grew up a few miles outside the town but went to school there and my brother and mother both have houses in the town, we stay about 50 miles north of there. It was a small fishing town years ago but does a good business as a holiday destination for people wanting to spend a few days away, there is an open air swimming pool, nice walks and some good places to eat and have a coffee.

I don't dare show the wife any more of these pictures. She wants me to get on a plane and fly over there. LOL

Yes it"s interesting how other people see what each of us see each day, we are so looking forward to seeing more of the US and Canada in a few weeks when we visit. Doing another road trip.

Looks like somebody pulled the plug in the bottom of the lake. Love the buildings and the little boats. What is the round sign with the 20 on it on the post for?

Bill from Scotland:

Beautiful pictures, THANK YOU!

I grew up around boats (Hate the Ocean, TOO WET! - I'm a confirmed Desert Rat, LOL!). First picture, foreground, second boat from the Right, looks almost identical to the Cabin Cruiser that my Father built back in the late 1950's.

Ancestors on my Father's side were from SW England, in fact they even have a Monument to our ancestry - "Cosdon's Beacon" - Dartmoor National Park, Devon, England UK .

I have heard or read the name, Stonehaven, but first photos I remember seeing. Rather quaint little village.
And it does look as if it maybe a "weekend destination" Thanks for sharing.
