Yep, and they even brought their own flying
saucer. LOL!

Actually, from what I've been told, that type of
aircraft is called a "Hurricane Hunter", and there
is a very sophisticated radar inside that saucer &
the saucer rotates on top of that pedestal.

lot of onesey, twosey modified aircraft come out of a Greenville plant. Did air force 1 there through many presidential terms until Slick Willy was president.
Moved AF1 maintenance out of Texas at that point.

thats the airborn control plane, used to be radio call sign 'lookinglass' dont know if it still is , this thing tracks anything that comes up off the ground ,and assignes a fighter or other defence system to it ,it also identifies where all frendly aircraft are

Don't think that was Looking Glass, IIRC Looking Glass was the call sign for the SAC airborne command post, not even sure if it had a dish on top. This is one of the AWAC birds, used for airborne command and control in theater. From this bird they could coordinate aircraft movement assign threat solutions to specific friendly aircraft and monitor threat resolution. IIRC the Navy also had birds with radardomes on top, some where on P-3's (Lockheed Electras)

AWACS. Very common aircraft. Based at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. At nearly any given time of day you can see one coming in or going out.
