shux , jon,,the bottom of the box will be showing when you get to the ohio river ,,, LOL .. don't swallow a pit when you hit the bumps on the overpasses... btw ,, Harrison co fair tractor pull is this comin Saturday evenin ..

I had 2 peach trees started from pits that were over 6 feet tall. The long cold winter here in mid Mn. killed them on top, but they are growing sprouts from the stump. How big do they get before they bear?

Years ago, I had two peach trees in the back yard in Dallas. There is nothing in this world as good as a tree-ripened peach!!!

I used to throw the bad ones (wormy or bird-pecked) over the fence into the pasture. One day I noticed one of my horses "snuffling" through the grass on the other side of the fence from the peach trees.

Went over to see what was going on. Got over there just in time to see her get one of the peaches I had thrown over the fence. Took the whole thing in her mouth. I groaned, thinking 'vet bill' from the stone.

She had the happiest look on her face while she worked on that peach. To my surprise, in a minute or two, she spit the stone out!!

I was surprised that she did that and very relieved, but stopped throwing bad peaches over the fence.

Even closer to me than Gaffney! I work about 15 miles or so south of 25. You ever make your way to Fountain Inn, SC let me know. I brew up a pot!

I'm in Spartanburg. Not far from Greenville. I could have shown you the 700 CASE that has all the Farmall boys wondering what happened. LOL

John M, there is a pull in Dacusville Saturday afternoon @ 5pm.

Come on out and play

I have done it, some make it, some do not. Have to freeze the pits first, then I use a bench grinder on the bottom and grind until I just see the center part opening up. Bury and wait.

I suppose that after you get home, you will have no choice but to post a photo of a freshly homemade peach pie. (sigh)

Enjoy them!

Jon, you better get a seat belt on them peaches before they all slide away! Next time you haul into Wal-Mart in Coldwater, MI let me know.

we had a couple peach trees in the back yard growing up in the midwest, nothing better, the neighbor had pears, close second. :)
