Not sure of your question.But yes there different 'types' of points.Autolite;prestolite;ACDelco;mopar......Each manufacturer had their 'own' point set.They are not intrechangeable.But they all worked exactly the same...
 
Probably not. Sometimes, though, the manufacturers would use standard distributors made by other companies, such as Delco, or Prestolite. Then the points would be the same.

But still, probably not. I think the Fords used Ford distributors which were different from everyone else's.

It would only take 10 seconds to pop the distributor cap off and see that they don't look anything alike, and verify for yourself.
 
Put them in your hand side by side. if they are the same,use em. It they are different,they wont work. You will see the differece imidiately.
