The original subject was "Re: PTO seal on 1967 Ford 2000".

I also have a 67 with a leaking PTO seal. Did you do this repair yourself? How long did it take?

My tractor is also leaking from the clutch and brake pivot rod on the lower side of trans/differential. Looks like I will be tackling that job also.

Thanks.

Both are easy. Especially if you don't have a loader on. Do them at the same time so you don't have to drain oil twice. Cross shaft, take the pedals off. Slide shaft to one side, pop the seal out of the other side. Slide shaft the other way and do the same. Don't forget to get the felt dust seals when you get the rubber seals. I just did mine. Have a loader on mine so I had to work around the arms. Pto, the hard part for me was getting the shaft out. Had to use a slide hammer. Actually, a loop of chain with a bolt through the hole in shaft and a 6 lb hammer as a slide. Don't remember which way, engaged or not.
Maybe 3 hrs for both.

I will be ordering the parts for both today. Thanks for the help.

I also want to fix the shifter so that third and reverse do not get tangled so easily. Any tips on that?
