Couple of pics from a local tractor show

Took a few pictures at the Charlton Park show this morning. (Hastings, MI)
They usually have a good show of working steam engines, some
antique trucks/cars/motorcycles etc. I didn't take many pics of those.
Oliver had a pretty good showing this year.
The RC 88 and 880 were both diesels.

This 1918 International is there about every year.

Need a trim?

Owned an 880 diesel w/f in the 70's when I was row cropping. Good tractor, but didn't turn ver sharp, had to drag the front around with brakes when pulling a 6 rn planter!
Thanks for the photos, love those Olivers!

Royse,

Great photos. I love the look of old Olivers. The
International is neat too... we saw one of those at
Heritage Park in Forest City, IA a couple years ago.

I always forget about that show. Not that I had time to go anyway I guess.

Did you take any down?

I didn't take any unfortunately. Didn't even get them to Ionia this year.
I've been kinda tied up with the hospital visits and stuff this spring,
so I haven't even got any of mine out of the barn except the workers.
This is the first show we've been to this year. Haven't even been
to an auction. Charles says I missed a good sale Wednesday. :(
New Old Stock Ford 9N/2N/8N hoods sold for $25. $300 aftermarket.
Today went well, we plan to be at Oakley too.

It looks like you took pics of about every tractor at Charlton. We were a bit disappointed in the show this year.

Not many steamers either, no sawing Friday morning.

This year was my first and last visit to Ionia, very few tractors or activities.

I hope the weather man is correct so we have a nice turnout at Riverbend next week.

(quoted from post at 18:00:54 07/12/14) Any good old Ford"s?
Many "good old Fords", not so many in the tractor form though.
I counted no less then four model A's, one model T truck, an F1,
an F100, a flat head V8 8N, another 8N that appeared to be original
paint except maybe the hood, not sure there.
Charles had his 2N there with the buzz rig on the back cutting wood
for the steam engines. The steam engines were running the saw mill.
Very cool local show. I still love to see all the cars/trucks parked
in the parking lot with the windows down and keys in the ignition.
Wish it were that way everywhere.

Sorry to hear you had a disappointing trip Kevin. To both places!
I didn't take pictures of even a fraction of the tractors there today.
The sawmill was in full swing this morning, as were other activities.
Shingles, threshers, hit and miss engines, balers, tractor pulls etc.

I didn't make it to the Ionia show this year, so I can't comment.
Last year there were over 400 tractors though, counting pullers.
I think Super Trucker went this year, maybe he can comment.
Perhaps there is a better time to attend the show than opening morning?
Many people are still working on Friday and can't get there first thing.
Best of luck with your local show, maybe we can make that one too!

I do not think Ionia had 100 tractors.

As to Charlton they have ran the mill on Friday in the past but this year the schedule showed Fri afternoon and 2 runs on Saturday. Of course I went on Friday morning as I did at Ionia too.

Maybe these are better on Saturday?????

The IH 8-16 was worth the trip, I think this is only one I have seen in nice running condition.

Gilmore was way down on iron also this year.

I am waiting to see if the turnout is low at Riverbend too.

Best of luck with your local show, maybe we can make that one too!

If ya get there look me up!!!!!!!!!!! 17, 18, 19 in Allendale, MI

I will be around the steamers and sawmill, if there is is an old M or 560 on the water wagon flag it down!!!

This looks to be the place, yes? Riverbend
If we can make it I'll look you up!

I got pix of those same tractors! (Along with about a hunnert others!)
Sorry I don't have facilities to post them.

Was a nice show, smaller than we expected-but nice all the same.

Sorry we missed you down there. Son bought a place about 10 miles away, so he thought it would be a nice father/son/grandson outing. Was a nice show. Came home with a bunch of nice pictures. Wife/DIL/granddauhgter went to Eaton Co fair.

Sorry I missed you Ray.
Probably walked right by you somewhere.
I hope you all had a great day out too!

(quoted from post at 20:58:07 07/12/14) I had my 8 n there at the show , and no
Fergusons at the show.

Was yours the one with the Ferguson plow on the back Dale?

Joan and I looked that over pretty good. Nice tractor!
Is that the original paint? Color looked spot on!

Took a lot of work to get it running, but it looked nice. Now I
must be hooked. Bought another one at yutzs auction. I was
going to strip for parts but can't part with it!

Good looking old iron! I have always liked Olivers, there were several around where I grew up, seemed to be real workhorses.

I wish I had know this many Talers were going to be
there. I drive my tractor there, only 4 miles away.
They worked on the sawmills Friday morning setting
them up. I was setting under the tree in front of
the stores.
