We got hit pretty hard here last night.Didn't last only a short time but a neighbor lost his barn and a bunch of tree damage. House roof is intact, but somewhat worse for the wear.

The kid that works for Jeff, his uncle's barn was destroyed and a couple of cows killed with damage to their house. Tornado took down an amish barn on the next road over and the debris slammed into his barn and house. The guys wife and one kid were milking at the time and decided that about the time the hay barn floor started caving in on them it was time to skeedadle! Tornadaos are not common in this area but do happen occasionally.

Found a cornstalk in my driveway last night--no cornfields within half a mile this year.

we had a tornado go through croton ohio several years ago where they have egg houses, a friend found dead chickens in his hay field, probably 40 miles away as the crow flies....

I'm located north of Syracuse NY, work in Syracuse. Last night 2nd shift was sent home because of no power and 3rd was told not to show up. This morning 1st shift told same thing. A tree 2 blocks over toppled from the wind gusts and took out a transformer station.

Quite a bit of tree damage, and building damage in the SW of Grand Rapids. Tornado was a ground based storm, didn't show up on radar until it was tearing things up. Weather bureau had no time to issue a warning.

Tuesday night We had straight line winds go from west to east thru a bunch of small towns just north of here. NYSEG is still up there hooking all the wires back up Brush piled up 5 ft. deep on both side of the streets in Earlville then on to Poolville where it did the same thing or worse. I heard Brookfield really got it bad also
Last night four people were killed up around Smithfield in madison county. Tornado picked up a house and dumped it on a neighboring house.

I am where last Thursdays did the most damage lost an 80 cow barn, a 61 and 42 foot auger. Damage to the house. Hail shredded the corn and soybeans. But my losses are nothing compared to what happened in Peterboro last night.

I am located in the Lowvile area. The twister started just off tughill and tore up an amish barn, then destroyed a barn and took the roof off a house on the #3 road and then across rt 12 just north of Lowville and destroyed a barn and both damaged both houses on the farm. They latest count is they lost 15 cows. The twister passed withing a couple of miles of my place and tore down another barn and did some damage to the house. This particular barn happened to be the original barn that my great-great grandfather homesteaded. Fortunately no one has been seriously hurt here. The weather service has now decided it was an F-1, so it could have been worse.

Drove by Vern's barn today--I've threw a few bales around that haymow myself, but I'm sure glad I wasn't doing that yesterday!
