48 C ignition switch draw when off

Last time I posted I asked about a draw on my battery. After testing at the genny and other circuits I found a 3 amp draw on the ignition switch. Just wondering how this simple push pull switch can cause a draw? And if anyone else has seen this condition. It is an IH factory switch.

Flip some money and get a new one. Can't hurt and it just might fix it. I try to replace parts once they are 70 years old whether they need it or not. Unless we're talking about my knees. Those will fall decades short of the desired replacement schedule.

To see if the draw is in the switch or somewhere downstream to Ignition coil or any ballast resistor etc:

Remove the wire on the switches OUTPUT (to coil) and see if she still draws current??? (it may if the switch has an internal short to case)

Remove the wire on the switches INPUT (from ammeter etc) and see if theres any current draw??? i.e. if so theres a short in the wiring from ammeter to the switches INPUT

If the draw still happens even when the OUTPUT is removed, yet theres none when input is removed, the switch must be the cause!!!!!!

Or try an ohmmeter on each terminal and see if theres continuity (a short) from either to its case/frame, if so its bad WELL DUH

Only "hole" in that theory (based on the details provided by the OP) is that a stuck cutout relay causes a draw of MUCH more than 3 Amps!
