I bought a pair of gas struts for the crossover tool box on truck off ebay. Got them yesterday. Removed the right one first. I could tell it was shot. Just replaced the bad one, works great. Saving the other strut for later.

Buying a pair of them, I got free shipping, no tax. Cost less than $15 each.

Hope they last longer than the OEM that lasted 6 years.

Amazing how long they will/won't last! Our 1991 Olds Silhouette mini-van will still hold the rear gate open if you push it up the last coupla feet! The one we have on a 1" square drive air wrench caddy at work failed and you HAVE to use the one made for the caddy!! Never thought I'd appreciate not picking up a CP286 long anvil air wrench off of the floor, but that caddy convinced me! The little dolly to take off/position/install tires is nice too!! Guess getting older is catching up to me!!
