What is a 710?

A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage. A woman came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten.

We all looked at each other and another customer asked, 'What is a seven-hundred- ten?'
She replied, 'You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I have lost it and need a new one..'

She replied that she did not know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there.

The mechanic gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like.

She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to a car just like hers which had its hood up and asked 'is there a 710 on this car?'.

She pointed and said, 'Of course, its right there.' the mechanic fainted

I sent my blond daughter to the parts house she told the counter guy she needed some wack daddy said her car was out of wack. Guy said he knew she was my daughter as soon as he heard her speak.

I work in a large plant with hundreds of forklifts. One day a woman drove her forklift across the lot from a nearby warehouse. It was an electric battery powered unit. She said it was slowing down but "It was full Of "V". (as in volts on the gauge).

Was writing service for AMC in the 70's when some of their radiators first came with overflow tanks. Woman came in and her radiator cap was leaking. I sent a helper over to the parts counter to get a replacement while I continued to write up the repair order. Being young smart az parts guys, they had a slang name for everything. So they ask and the kid walks back up to her and I and asks, does it have a douchebag or not?

I was like the people on those Southwest Air ads, looking for a place to hide.

True story here.

30 years ago when I was a kid my whole family, 4 of us total were at a gas station. My dad went in to pay for the gas. As he walked out of the station 2 younger girls had the hood up on their car and one of the girls opened up a quart of oil and just poured it onto the engine (without taking of the oil filler cap) she just dumped it right out on the engine and a fire started. Right at that minute my dad was walking by. (keep in mind I am about 14 yo at the time) as I am looking out the window of my dads car my dad grabbed a rag and put out the fire in their car. (real lucky a major fire did not blow up the station)

Some people have no business trying to do anything slightly mechanically related to cars or truck. From what I remember these girls were about 20, and of course.....Blond.

a blonde was trying to get some extra money to buy these shoes she saw and had to have. she asked the neighbor if he had any chores she could do, he said here's some paint, paint the porch and i'll give you enough to buy the shoes. an hour later she knocks on the door and ask if he had more paint cause she didn't have enough to finish the bumper.
