Ants

Just had to tell about this product that works. We always get ants this time of year. The ones that get in the house are brown and only about an eighth inch long. You can put out traps and watch the ants wander right past them. Well my son told my wife about something new. Hot Shot Liquid Ant Bait. The package claimed that they are killed in 24 hours, and we have not seen another one. It contains a toxic ingredient but I appreciate a product that works.

Where'd you get it? Have been bothered badly this year with the same type of ant myself. Usually use Terro with decent results, but this year they're not showing any signs of decreasing in numbers. The last straw was when a friend gave me a jar of fresh strawberry jam, warning me she'd had some difficulty getting it to gel properly. Put it on a slice of toast, raised it to my mouth, bit, and about half of it shot out the end and all over the counter. Do you have any idea how much noise two hundred ants clapping and cheering make? They gotta go or I won't get any sleep!

The last two years I had ants so bad my wife said she was going to leave the house after 40 years. I mixed 2 ounces of SEVIN in a gsllon of water and used a pump up sprayer and went around the house and garage spraying a 6 inch band. The next day the small and big ants were gone.
When we had cows we used Sevin for flies and it seemed to work pretty good.
Researching the chemical it seems to have a low toxicity to people and animals.

I think that the wife said Lowe's.

Thanks--nearest Lowe's is an hour away but I'll check my local stores first. May also do a perimeter spray--have noticed the driveway is swarming with them this year which of course means the chances of them finding their way into the house are all that much better.

I have had excellent luck with diatomaceous earth. It only works in dry areas. Works on spiders also.
