Been useing the SuperM this week moveing the nurse tank that holds the 32% fertilizer.Got to thinking. This old M is the one I go to when I need to move something,do an odd job...It ALWAYS starts,is eager to work.It has done literally done EVERY job on my farm.Every job in its 35 years here.No other tractor I own can 'say' that. It's my "GoTo" tractor.I guess I couldnt farm with it.What's your 'GoTo' tractor?

All of em. I'm so diversified with what I do and own that each tractor fits it's little spot in my world. The M does the big bush hog jobs, runs the manure spreader and may pull the drill. The 1206 does the heavy tillage, runs the haybine and round baler plus feed bales and blows snow. The 2 8N's do food plots, plant corn and veggies, mows lawn, runs the small bush hog, PHD, garden work, rear blade and other small jobs. The TLB does all the loader and digging work. 2 weeks ago I was on the 8N's, 1206 and TLB. This past week it was the 8N's and TLB. This week will mostly be the 1206 for hay. Next week the M will be in the pasture mowing weeds.

I have 6 everyday users.Plus 4 or 5 more that run. Each one has its job(s).But the SM is 'it'!

Oliver 770. Starts on the coldest winter mornings, never runs hot in the summer. It's a comfortable tractor to drive.

I have a JD 420 that I use for the light stuff. It gets more hours on it than any other tractor around here. An Oliver 1955 4WD for the grunt work.

My John Deere 4020, it to has been here 35 years. The motor has been overhauled once in that time. Always starts, and has done every job here. One of the best decisions I ever made. Told my grandpa I didn't think I needed a tractor that big. He told me to never buy under power, get more than you need.

That"s hard decision for me, we have many 2 cyl.
But here"s a 60 , 620 & 630 that can do it all
if needed. A 530 that"s a cracker jack of a
tractor that is getting used more & more. For
all the small jobs my little JD M does it. Plus
another 60 , 2 730 diesel a 2750 4wd & 3255
4wd. The old model B hasn"t been used much
mostly because it"s too wet to make hay. I"m
still waiting on the block for the Old A to
finish that tractor.. And I"ve found another
730 that"s the right price I may come home with.

Last summer the owner of the John Deere store
stopped in at milking time, the Barn yard was
full, we were haying. The B was hooked to the
hay rake, 530 hooked to the tedder, both 60"s
had loads of hay behind. both 730"s had 1209
haybines behind , 630 had load of hay, the
620 had 337 & a load of hay. 2750 had the
bale wrapper hooked to it. And the little M
was hooked to a 567 silage special round
baler. ( Just moving it out of the barn
floor).. The John Deere man said, You guys
need another tractor! U ain"t got enough
tractor on that baler! Now the 3255 will
have that job.

whatever one has the right implement attached to it...
Just one? Probably a Ford NAA/600/800 depending on what I own at the time.
Strong enough for most jobs, small enough for tight spaces.

funny, with all the bigger tractors here, probably the most used
for little jobs is my ancient, big Kohler powered Wheel Horse
with a front and rear hitch, real Ag tires and weights, and dual range trans.
Moving trailers around, towing dead tractors into the shop
(Ya can maneuver the WH out after ya get the big one in there)
my 'go-to' machine lol

Steve, I don't farm, but if I want to move things around at my brother's acreage (where I keep 10 of my 11 tractors) I either use my '48 A JD or the Farmall H I got a year ago

Small tasks, 650 bombardier atv, mid size tasks, Farmall 200 with fast hitch, large tasks, Massey Ferguson 492 with loader.

For me it seems that all of the tractors have something they are good at. But the main two are the 185 and the D15. I leave the drawbar off of the D15 most of the year as it is used for the snap coupler implements, seems like its either hooked up to the blade, the pallet forks or the snap coupler rakes. The 185 grinds feed, mows weeds, cuts hay and what ever else needs done.

I know what you mean. My go to tractor has changed over the years and updated to newer models but has always been one with a loader on it.

Computer works OK on YT.It wont post pics.Facebook is almost a lost cause.I can look at it,but cannot post much if at all.Other 'functions' dont work either.

This isn't really a go to, last week was first time out of the shed in 5 years. Trying to remember why I bought it although it looks good with my Super C but I put a lot more money in it than intended.

usually its whichever one isnt already hooked to something, if none are "loose" its whichever one has the power for the job i need

I have plenty of tractors around here and most have their own job...but what I would miss the most is my Deere 7775 Skidloader. Most of the work is done with the rock grapple, but I also have 2 material buckets, forks, 3pt/receiver hitch plate and post hole auger for it.

Over the last 20 years, the tractor that has seen the most hours, and all jobs, is a D15.

BUT the machine that is the hardest to live with out is the forklift- use it as an engine hoist, to move implements, trailers, fence pannels, project tractors, etc.

3020 JD with a Loader on front and forklift on back. When it is down it is like my right arm has been cut off. It was also our big tractor here for the first 10 years. Yep this one has done pretty much everything here.

Hi I guess I"m gonna have to tell you about my Dads.
He has a 5270 Belarus for his use. I have a 6400 Valtra for hog barn chores, both are loader tractors and F.W.A.
He tells anybody that asks the valtra"s ok but he prefers his Belarus. Funny thing is he seeded with the Belarus, pulled the seeder back in the yard. Now every time he needs a tractor for something other than spraying, my Valtra always seems to be gone. Even if nothing is hooked to the Belarus, And yes it does still work properly. Before anybody starts Belarus jokes L.O.L
Regards Robert

For moving equipment, trailers and hay wagons its the IH 444. it beats the Ford 3000 for ease of use. if it's a big job the IH2500B it also has the fast reverser which makes using the loader a dream.
