Update on Buying the tractor

I got home from work at 7 am and talked about it with her. She
said she was fine with it and we had a good discussion about it.
Then I fell asleep before I could call and make an offer.... Well its
on a trailer to Virginia and I don't have to shell out 2k. I really
appreciate everyones replies. And the Alicia is one in 10 billion.
She has the patiences of a saint. She has already driven most of my
tractors, helps when we plant/harvest and loves going to my
parents house to do some farming. So long story short I wouldve
had a win win situation but it just wasn't in God's plan for me.
Heres a picture of the girl on my H.

Right pretty young lady.

She drives tractors, likes farming, and likes you to boot. Get that ring on her finger, son, and do it before some other guy figgers out what a catch you have.

I'm gonna have to get the ring soon. I think she might wise up and run off so I gotta trap her before she catches on. hahahaha. I plan to get it soon, pay it off then, give it to her in the fall.

,you will find another tractor , , but don't delay on the gal ,finds like that in these modern times is hard ,,, ,sounds like and looks to be a keeper for sure fix her finger rite away , before some no good slik snake wiggles in on you.. guess how I know...

My thoughts to you this morning were to get the ring first, tractor second. I am sticking to that thought. I'd get a ring on her finger ASAP if I was you. :)

Hey Fuller;

The $2000 you where going to spend on a tractor would easily by that ring?????

There will be many old tractors that you will get excited about but there is nothing in your life that will be more important than finding the right woman to marry.

Nothing will effect your and her future than the ability to work toward common goals together.

Both of my wives have been a GOD send to me. My first wife was the best manager you would ever meet. She could have ran a fortune 500 company smoothly. She could and did manage a house full of kids within a tight budget that still allowed us to work toward a good future for us both. My second wife stepped into the void left when my first wife died. She was able to keep things going just about as smooth in a difficult situation.

Those two women are the main reason my family is in good shape today. I could not have done it with out the two of them being beside me 100% of the way. I do mean BESIDE me not behind me. They worked HARDER than I ever did.

So young man I would make that ring and marriage a higher priority than any old tractor or any material thing for that matter.

Get the ring, forget the cost. It'll be the best money you ever spent. It sure was for me, in the spring of 1963.

P.S. Make sure she can't count--that way she won't know how many tractors you have.

ike a ring is gonna keep her if she decides to move on.
She might even take the tractors with her

Don't let that one get away! Are you waiting on getting the ring to ask her or have you already?

You could ask her and then go pick out a ring together. Worked for me 13 years ago!

More tractors will show up. Probably a better one next time. You won't find any for 6 months and then you'll find 10 in one week.

I'm glad for you - good communication and empathy for eachother. That's priceless!

Not sure if she's already got a ring in mind, but they don't have too be expensive.
My wife loved the $100 engagement ring so much - she didn't want to get another ring for a wedding band! We used the same ring on our wedding day. FWIW -- to us the 'bling' of a 'ring' didn't matter a whole lot to us.

...buuut; I haven't got a tractor yet.

I haven't asked yet. I plan to this fall./winter. I am going to see her parents in October, maybe earlier if I ever get a few days off. But until then I will keep saving. I'm not going overboard on a ring but want it to be something that she wears and can show off. I know she will be happy with whatever I get her. I work in the gas industry so I'm saving for that and for a new vehicle here soon. Then I'm going to focus on saving for the wedding/reception.

Don't wait to ask and if yes go together to pick out ring. And you may be supprised that she might go for the lower priced ring instead of the higher priced one that you are thinking of. When I go married the first ring I gave her cost $2.00 (Two dollars) but that was 36 , close to 37 years ago. My wedding suit cost $10.00. Less expencive may just make you together longer. Flashiness does not mean it will last, down to earth does mean it will last.

Well since this is a tractor forum and we all like to wheel and deal. I'll trade you a tractor for her !!!!!! LOL.
