I've been looking for some decent used tires.
It seems like 14.9 are more common than 16.9 in 24" size.
Is there a chart somewhere that shows the diameters of tractor tires?
I used to have a link to Firestone Ag tires that showed that info but it doesn't work any more.

I know this doesn't make any difference being so far away but we did a job a couple of counties away and stopped at the local scrap yard and they had 4 or 5 pairs of 14.9s. They had shredded a bunch of combines. No help just blabbing.

Michelin and I think Mitas still post their tire data online. I have no idea why Firestone took that info down...
16.9 is a LOT more tire than a 14.9... I think you're find 16.9-24 is more of an R4 tread design whereas the 14.9-24 will be an R1 design as well.

from what i've found, 14.9r24 have a diameter of approx 49.5 inches and a rolling circumference of 147.4 inches, while 16.9r24 are 52 inches diameter and 154.7 inches rolling circumference... varies with brand though, everybody makes tires a little different.

lots of 14.9r24 out there as they were a common tire for the rear of combines...
