1948 Case Vac

Looking for some help. currently trying to piece back together a tractor i got for free and having a small issue. the tractor is a 1948 case vac and its almost back together except that there is a threaded hole in the middle of the head and i cant figure out what its used for. its on the side with the spark plugs and between cylinders 2 and 3.i already have the temp sensor installed i was thing its the mount for the spark plug cover but i cant verify that.

Yes that should be a the hole for the spark plug cover stud
