...in the neighborhood. Hot sun, dry air...if I had a breeze I would think I was in hay heaven. No rain chance today or tomorrow. Saturday slight chance. I am down to THREE bales so this is a blessing. I doubt many lower Michigan folk will be on here today.
 
We have overcast, muggy, clammy weather today. Sure wish the garden would dry out some. If the sun comes out, I might mow today too. It's a shame. I have a heavy stand of clover/timothy on the power line but not enough to get someone to cut and bale, even if I gave it away. If it dries, I can use some for mulch and some in the dog's houses this winter. It's getting too course for rabbits and deer to use.

Same up here. I just cut another 10 acres,but I'm gonna quit. I think this is going to hang on until they change the forecast and it rains.
 
I just came back from hay heaven. A little over a week ago - haven't had conditions like that in a long time.

Cool dry air, full sun, very strong winds.

Even the stuff I cut with a sickle bar - no conditioner - was ready to make nice light bales on the second day.

Wish it was like that all the time!
 
Pouring rain again today and likely through Saturday. I make about 3500 bales a year. So far I'm at 98. Maybe next week. Problem now is that the rain has laid the grass over terribly. Much more difficult to cut now than it would have been. Can't seem to get more than 3 dry days in a row so far this summer. Not very warm even on the good days. Usually wrapping hay up by the 4th. Now I hope to start by then...
 
I've got 35 acres on the ground. I'll bet the FARM that the only day out of the next 10 that will be dry enough to bale this stuff after it gets rained on over and over will be the Fourth of July. I'll be d1cking with this ruined stuff instead of enjoying the holiday. GUARANTEED!!
