Unplugged my chest freezer to defrost and clean, now when I plugged it back in it doesn't work. Is there a thermo reset button somewhere that needs resetting? Thanks, Gene

There is no reset. There is an internal thermal switch in the compressor. If the compressor fails to start it will trip. But, it's self resetting. When it cools it will try again.

I would let it sit unplugged for an hour or so and try again. If it works, problem solved.

If it doesn't, feel the temp of the compressor. If it's cold, likely the power is not getting to the compressor. Check the wiring, switch, breaker, etc.

If the compressor is hot and not running, it could be the start relay, usually plugged on the side of the compressor where the wires attach.

If the compressor is hot, and running, and no cold inside the freezer, it's probably lost its refrigerant charge.

Also be sure the condenser fan (if equipped) is running and the condenser coil is clean.

It could be in defrost mode.......won't power the compressor and powers the defrost heater..leave it plugged in and the timer will be satisfied and the compressor will come on after a matter of time.
