i have a 231 massey ferguson-nas excellent looking brake shoes but it takes both feet to hit them and then it still does not stop well. anybody else got this problem?

Deglaze the brakes with a wire wheel? Sometimes that helps.

We also have a 231 on our farm, the brakes have always been
crap! Our old TO 20 has better stopping power. We refer to the
231 as the polish clutch jumper due to the lack of clutch
adjustment

I have the same issue. The problem is they are a simple but poorly designed manual linkage and actuator. Does anybody know of a kit or a simple way to make them hydraulic?

I like my 231 except for the brakes. Even with new shoes the brakes still don't work all that good. Stan
