6059 new motor no oil pressure

Could be a lot of reasons...

First, see if you have oil flow. Remove the oil pressure gauge line from the engine, crank the motor over and see if there is any oil flow. That will prove the oil pump is turning and primed, and supplied with oil.

If there is flow, check the pressure relief valve and spring. Could be stuck open, incorrectly assembled, etc.

If it's not these obvious solutions, something is wrong internally, process of disassembling and checking until it's found.

Remove the sending unit and install a working pressure gauge. Have someone to spin over the engine while you watch the pressure gauge. If there's no pressure I wouldn't run the engine until you drain the oil and remove the oil pan.
Some engines had pipe plugs and someone may have forgotten to install them. They were in the cam
shaft area. Pull the oil pump and set it in a clean container of engine oil and spin the drive gear to see if it will prime itself. My co-worker had that happen on a 1962 Ford car. The idiot light cam on and the hydraulic valves starting to get noisy. The relief valve had opened and was full of sludge from short drives. We installed a new pump. Hal

I had problems getting a rebuilt engine oil primed one time. Took the oil filter off and cranked engine until oil ran out the filter mounting. Reinstalled filter and it had now had oil pressure.

(quoted from post at 20:00:13 06/18/14) I had problems getting a rebuilt engine oil primed one time. Took the oil filter off and cranked engine until oil ran out the filter mounting. Reinstalled filter and it had now had oil pressure.

These are great suggestions...I will try them and let you know the outcome. Thanks a million!

changed the oil gauge from a electric to a manual. turned the engine over several times without starting and still no oil pressure.

I would have the guy who did the reman come out and look at engine before you crank it any more.

Try removing the gauge completely, crank and see if oil comes out the hole. If nothing, the pump may not be primed. Cranking with the gauge out may relieve the air lock enough for the pump to prime.

I have a friend that used to use an old power steering pump run with an electric motor to pressurize the gallery before ever turning over a fresh rebuild. Probably overkill but maybe saved some engines!

While the suggestions are good ones, You should contact the rebuilder first and do what they want you to in order to avoid warranty issues in the future. They did the work and have their reputation on the line. The more you try without success the more damage you can do to the engine.
