Ray, the tractor is a "Moline Universal", and the spreader appears to be Moline, as well. Photos of both at the link below.

Three things come to mind,

1. Good, does not eat hay !

2. Bad, The beginning of "Global Warming" !!

3. Good.....for me, The beginning of needing a parts man... which I did for 48 years.

reenies are already blaming animal flatulence. Coming: catalytic converters for cows.

rusted, A little less chit though as tractors slowly replaced the horse's.

Think how much hay and feed it would take and how much chitty you would have to haul from the amount of horses it would take to do the work of one Case/IH STEIGER 600 Tractor. The changes we have seen !

LOL, ya looks kinda silly. I have seen simular photos. Not sure how many manufacturers made something like this. I think the idea behind it was alot of horse drawn equipment you had to ride on to operate it. By having one of these back in the day, you didn't have to alter all of your horse drawn equipment, or buy different equipment to go with your tractor. Heck of an idea, however I don't think these were very widely used. Even if they were, it wasn't for very long.

Used for transportation,farm work
they take wheels off and put paddles on to till rice paddies

Same type of thing is seen in South Korea.

Ya know, when you think about it, a well built 2 wheeled tractor can get an awful lot done. Yes, they look frail and underpowered and like a lot of work for someone used to an air ride seat, AC and heat and 300 hp with GPS navigation. But those little 2 wheelers do a heck of a lot of work.

I;m not sure bigger is always better.
