Looking for a 9.5-36 tire for a Farmall A-V?

Any sources or hints to locate such a tire in the central maine area?

Craigslist, auctions, salvage yards(if there are any for tractors in Maine). 36" are a bit harder to find than 24,28 or 38, and the 9.5 will be even more unusual as a lot of them are a bit wider.

Part of finding used tires depends on the popularity of the size you're looking for. I needed a 12.4 X 28 for a Massey 135- called the only good salvage yard left in this area, Farmland Supply in Tangent, Oregon. The guy said those go out as fast as they come in. Had a good pair yesterday, they were gone by the end of the day.

Don't know what your budget is but what I did once for a hard to find size was--- I bought a new set and advertised my good used one. Got almost the price of new for my used one and now I had a brand new matched set.

Best solution I've heard yet.

In a nutshell, if we did know of a place, we wouldn't tell you because we need those tires for ourselves...

Tires are a precious commodity these days. New ones are outrageously expensive, so everybody is looking for "good used" tires. Good used tires are almost impossible to find because everyone is looking for them, and any that come up get snatched up almost immediately.

I tried the "sell the old tires" trick a couple years ago. Advertised two usable 13.6x38's *EVERYWHERE* for $40 each, WITH TUBES! No takers. Ended up selling them to a friend for $20 for the pair. Someone offered him $100 for ONE of the tires!
