Hate to disagree with but that is not a cab-over but a "bubble-nose" N series cab. The F and L models had long hoods, the N and LN series had short hoods, and the C and W series were the cab-overs. I own a L (louiesville) N 700 with the short (bubble-nose) hood. The L and LN had taller cabs and as a result you did not bump your head off the ceiling of the cab every time you hit a bump like you did with the F model cabs. I had one of each and was not fond of that F model low cab! Armand

I am going to disagree with you. I just consulted my book "Ford Trucks Since 1905" by James K. Wagner. The stub nose Ford trucks were C series until the tilt cabs came out in 1957. Ford didn't build any more stub nose until the N series came out in 1963.

That is a Cab-Over Ford. These models had a one piece hood where the N series had a ' Butterfly" style hood that each side opened. This Cab Over has a one piece hood that raises up from the front. clint

Hemp patch cracked me up, man if they saw that around here the whirly bird in the sky would be a hovering, I expect them to inspect my garden again this year, just like last year, darned gestapo !!!!! LOL !

That is or sure as heck looks like an Obeco, cattle and grain body, I have one on my '64 F600, they sure do weather well, amazing how they stay intact outside, neat truck, hope you get it or have a chance at it, if for sale and all. The hemp cracks me up, man what a field day they'd have it it grew wild here, after last years hover over my garden, I just want to plant a field of it now, here ya go boys, now go make some rope or something LOL !

Here's one sitting on my hill. Sold it last year for $50 and the guy never came to get it. Nice ornament.

I consulted the same book that BobNY did, and if you read carefully, beginning in 1953,with the C500 and C600 trucks Ford began calling them "cab-forward" rather than C.O.E as they had been called up until that time.
I've always called then cab-overs though and have liked that type of truck since I was 9 or 10 years old.
That '54 looks to be in great shape!!
