I have this John Deere Mower, and I see the data plate with a serial number, but anyone know what the model is?
I need to replace the PTO hub, and was hoping to buy used and not from the dealer...

Yup it is a model 307. The part number for the yoke Is W10224 And it is $128.75 then you will also need the cross .

Your model number is 127 but that broken part is the same on a 307 they both use part number W10224

The 127 at the front is the model number and back part is serial number. Ours was older and had a 3 universal shaft.

When you say it was universal shaft type, do you mean it had the 540 RPM shaft instead of the machined Universal-T hooks?

I wonder which is stronger??

I ment it had a middle bearing carrier about 1 foot behind the hitch point with a universal on front side of the bearing as well as the one at tractor and one on gear box. That extra universal made it turn smooth with no universal knock unlike the mower we had later without that extra suport. Don't know what you mean by T-hooks? Got rid of the Deere 30? years ago and after being without one for couple of years Dad decided he wanted anouther and after let cousin use it and bent the shaft got rid of the newer one 10? years ago.
