Been having trouble with the shifting on my new stuff getter. It has the 6 spd man. tranny and I've been having a terrible time finding the gears. I end up in 3rd when I want 1st, rev. rather than 1st, down shifting was an adventure to say the least. I've been driving tractors and trucks for about 45 years and never had that much trouble. I thought I was loosing my mind, turns out all that was wrong was I had a screw loose, on the shifter that is. It fell out today which made it easy to find and fix. Now I can shift almost like I'm a professional truck driver.

Little things can drive you batty. If the engine blows or a tire goes flat it's obvious, but some other things aren't.

I had a shifter break off in my hand one time. That was an interesting situation. Drove all the way home in second gear.

If you would have taken the truck to a dealer, you may have got a transmission overhaul or a new transmission. Or at least the bill for one.

I always thought the big rigs shifted better than a pickup anyway.

Maybe it is cause ya shift one a thousand times a day then get back into yer pick em up truck.

Had that happen myself once. My old Jeep now has a custom made shifter out of 4140 material. If I break it now, I've done something terribly wrong....

If that's the way to go, why are they still putting manuals in pickups?

They only put auto trans in semi tractors so women have something to drive. lol, drove one for two weeks and hated it, try backing up hill slowly like to be able to bump a dock, one more way to get guys on road without knowledge or ability to shift a non synchronized transmission.

At least the chromium plated, fully illuminated genuine accessory shift knob didn't come off in your hand while going down Wolf Creek Pass.

Nice looking truck. Get into the bottoms of the doors and between the inner and outer panels of the body to stop the rust before it goes further.

They are still putting manuals in pick-ups- if you buy a mini-truck, or a de-rated Cummins.
