That is neat! reminds me of the Farm Show magazine creations the farmers come up with.

How much resistance do two mower/conditioners create? Does it have enough power & traction to push both of those through the field?

Interesting. That's a lot if cutting for that engine to do! I'm guessing you steer it using the turning brakes?

I have seen this rig before. it steers and balances off of the rear hydroswing with the original orbital combine steering hooked to 2 cylinders mounted by the end of the hitch where it hooks to the combine axle. If I remember correctly, it is running the perkins 540 v8 for a motor, so power running both of them is not an issue.. and I believe both drive pumps are mounted directly to the motor. a very neat machine!

I believe the steering is very simple. The toung of the hydroswing was cut off and reversed and fastened ridgidly to the combine power unit. The hydroswing cylinders were then plumbed to the hydrostatic steering system of the combine. Fifth wheel steering, No brakes necessary.

It looks way too complicated to steer with trailing cutter. Just have tongue of front cutter solid, and articulate under pilot seat. Then you always straddle windrow. With a regular hitch on back and two remote ports to raise/lower and left/right swing rear cutter with raise/lower front only remote needed there. You could have one or two on/off controlls for cutter bars depending if you want independent operation. Oh Now I See the stearing cylinder just to right of steering wheel in third pic. Looks to me like a weak link there and dont see how it would flex over uneven ground, if you put the articulation on drive machine it could be much stronger and flex could be handled also.
