Atrazine mixture ratio .

I found some atrazine in dads garage after his passing. I want to spray my sweet corn ,but not sure how to mix it. What part spray to water ? Thanks for your help.

I just googled atrazine for sweet corn. It will work fine. I will let you decide for your area and circumstances.

You don"t mix a ratio. You mix according to output of your sprayer...how many gallons per acre does it put out.

Bottom line, you're playing with something you shouldn't. At the very least,go to the county extension office and get the CORE Pesticide Applicators manual and read the chapter on sprayers and calibration. It'll tell you what you need to know. Read the chapter on protective equipment too.

As was said"Read the label".If there is none,go talk to a local professional. The thing is how much product per acre. You heed to know how many gpa (water) you sprayer puts out. That means tip size,pressure,mph.CALIBRATE.Once you know that, pour in sufficient product to accomplish this. With attrazine, you will be limited to just corn in that field for 2-3 years. Residual'Carry over'. Again,READ and seek local professional help.

It was sold with no restriction for years.
We used 2lbs per acre on heavy clay that we were going to plant alfalfa the next year. This is too
much for sandy soily to plant broad leaves the next year. Used 4 lbs. if heavy weed with grass on clay. Next year it was corn on corn.
Also, remember to use oil and surfactant. It will be a lot more effective.
As far as for is it still good. The AmericanChemical Manufacturers Imdes states that the atrazine is stable for many years as long as it was not exposed to bright light and very high tempuratures.
You will have to do some calculations on concentration and conversion to lbs. Also, sprayer will have to be calibrated.

Maximum allowed is now 1 3/4 lb acre/year. Believe I've already told this story but for those whom missed: We had a brick walkway at the old house. Kept grass from growing between the bricks by using salt for ages. Mom got the great idea that a grass herbicide just had to better so she emptied about three lbs atrazine from an open 5 lb bag on about 100 ft of the walk way. Subsequent rains leached the atrazine and it killed everything approx 10 or so feet on each side of the walk. Nothing grew for a several years, until finally a couple of dandelions finally poked thru.
