Garage sales

A while back I bought an old hydraulic bench press at a garage sale for $15 it didn't work leaked down and had no pressure. Yesterday I took a look at it and desired it was time to take it apart and see what I needed to fix it. In short order I had it apart and found that the only thing wrong was that someone took it apart and didn't reassemble it correctly. Well some goos cleaning and some Teflon tape reassemble and it works great. Has lots of pressure and holds it over night.
Sometimes you sure get lucky.

About 25 yrs ago a friend of mine bought a brand new homelite chain saw on a garage sale for little or nothing price. The only thing wrong was the chin was installed backwards.

My chiropractor had a amusing take on garage sales..... He said "If you don't want it...why would I?" (He doesn't know what he is missing...)

I bought a 2 yr old riding mower for cheap at a yard sale cause it wouldn't cut any more--blades were on upside down - still going strong.

i used to like to go to garage sales, but now that we live in the country we usually only go into town once every two weeks to shop for groceries, feed, etc...we avoid going on the weekends at all cost to avoid the crowds and we have so many stops already that we probably wouldn't stop anyway cause it would be one more stop.

I bought a Howard Miller keywind mantle clock for $10, took it home and wound it up and it works fine. Looked up online the model no. from the tag and they still sell them, retail price is $969.00
