3 pt lift capacity

I have a 1971 Ford 2000 tractor. I want to attach a 950 lb chipper to the 3 pt., but I'm not sure if the lift capacity is adequate to lift 950 lbs.
Thank you for any advice.

950# is penuts. The hitch will lift all the weight the front of the tractor will counter balance and then some.

I have used a 7' Allied snowblower on my 2000. Not enough power to run the blower real well but no trouble lifting it.

28 hp tractor should lift that at the lift arm link easily. I have a 19 hp Ford that lifts 1800+ on the 3 pt. Chippers can extend out pretty far though so a lot is going to depend on how much the weight is distributed. Further from the tractor, the less it will lift. If the flywheel of the chipper is up close to the tractor i would say no problem.
