Has my dad been round your place and borrowed the carb,to go on our heap o junk ,as yours is missing. That won't help with starting either

I have had one just like it for years. Mine works just fine. Great for installing cabinets.

I agree with Shadetree, reverse the direction of the
chain... and maybe sharpen it before putting it back
on.

If you pull start it be sure you don't
hook to the three point hitch.

I think your chain is on backwards. Won't cut that
way.

Looks like the chain brake is missing; it will not start without a chain brake.

It is extremely dangerous without a chain brake; only thing more dangerous is a tractor with no PTO shield.

Also looks like you need to spray some non-flammable WD40 on the chain.
