Some progress this week

On my new tractor shed....I finally managed to get some help Monday and Tuesday....Even though it rained we managed to get some corrugated tin on the roof and side. Wednesday another guy helped me lay 27 metres of concrete on the floor. We still need a few metres to finish the floor, but I have some posts to stand up at each side of the doorway and I want to concrete them in. This part of the shed is 120'x38' and 13 ' to the top of the posts.Work will stop again if the weather is nice this week as I have more grass to mow for silage.......Sam

That's one awesome tractor shed Sam! I'm envious!
May I ask why you built block wall half way up and steel the rest?
I like the natural light too.

Royse that is the way it is done here, blocks are cheaper but the labour then makes it expensive. the tin is fast but not suitable for bumping machinery or livestock against!. These sheds/barns are secondhand.....The main shed was only standing for 2 years and the other lean-to shed at the back was standing 7 years. The farm they were on had to be removed to make way for a new road. I bought 2 sheds out of the 3 on the farm. I must say they made a good job of dismantling them....It is all coming together(with a bit of thinking!) very well and will be as good as a new shed/barn.
Larry, this barn is full before I even get it built!.........Sam

Almost impossible to salvage concrete blocks from a wall in these parts- code requires a vertical rebar with cells filled with concrete every 4 feet, and you can't get the blocks down without breaking them.
