Got a few acres ready to plant today, even tho it's
still wet. Got a lot more work to do this spring
because we didn't get any plowing done last fall.
Jeff managed to get the 2394 stuck, and we each
managed to get the loader stuck. Had a lone tree in
the middle of the field that had to go, the found
this rock under it, which probly explains the tree.
The loader couldn't lift the rock, but I was able to
roll it out of the hole then push it off the field.

What I wouldn't give for moisture like that we could run 2 inch hose in one spot for a few week and it still wouldn't be that soft

That rock was about the size of one my brother dug out with a shovel the first year he started farming 50 some years ago. My Grand Father had been catching his plow on it for years before he died and my brother started farming the farm. He dug for days with a shovel and was able to roll it up on top of the ground with the wrapping a chain to roll tricks. He had a new John Deere 3010 and after it was on top he couldn't pull it. Dad had bought a new 1600 Oliver that he hooked ahead of the Deere and with both tractors they were able to skid it into a fence row.

Wow, we had a boulder like that, been there for years in one the fields my farmer friend had. He allowed a local contractor, with DEC permits to dump clean fill along an embankment, so he left a '02 JD450 on site, and knew most of us had experience with dozers, so when the fill needed to be pushed off, graded etc. we could use it. I tried the night before to get an edge on this rock with the JD3150 and loader, no way, would have broke something, though the farmer I was helping, was not stopping, me, I said I have enough respect for this nice tractor, its not worth fooling with. I came in early the next morning, got on the 450 and went over to this rock, it was out in 10 minutes, and I pushed it off to where it was out of the way, but one of the sons was a landscaper, so I left it in case he wanted to sell it. I went over and graded all the fill off, got some seat time and went back to spring planting, sometimes you forget the hydraulic power of these earth movers, that little JD 450 was impressive, I towed a big oak log with it, along side, rigged from the blade up hill it would not tow it up, you just forget the power.

I'm surprised the WA-320 could not push itself out, must have been suction, not worth getting in deeper. I used to run a WA450, loading trucks and screening top soil, and clearing snow, felt like the king of the road when running on 2 lane roads to get to a site, it earned the title of beast !

Dug one out a bit smaller than that a few years ago. I was all my JD D and my neighbors Oliver 1750 could pull once we got it out. I sure wish he was still around to do that stuff with me.
