Taking the morning off

This time of year I am very busy cutting weeds. Seams like I never get caught up. I had a early day planned. Last night, I get a call from my 8 year old grand daughter, asking if I will be coming to Grand Parents day at her school. I couldn't say no. Stan

In other grandpa news, grandson left his bike off and asked if I could fix the tire (his dad isn't "handy"). Took it to the shop last night, and its not a puncture, its a blowout! Tire and tube both ruined. Other tire ready to go any minute. The bike is not abused, but just worn out, and he really needs a bigger one anyhow.

So went to Wally World this AM (they do have pretty good bikes- we've had good luck with them- and no one else sells bikes around here anyhow). Got him a 24" Mongoose 18 speed mountain bike, with a zooty spring suspension, etc.

Gonna take it over tonight in the back of the pickup, and as I'm opening the tailgate, tell him I kind of spiffed it up a little bit, while I was at it, and then watch his face.

They're the best. We have 10 and even the older ones enjoy coming over and hanging out. They're comfortable to just go to the fridge and help themselves. It's a good feeling to know that they think we're pretty cool.

Not a better feeling in the world than my 3 year-old grandson hugging my neck as tight as he can and says;"I love you Grandpa"!!

Even if they are that far away be glad you know where they are. Ours we do not even know were they are and have not seen or heard from them in years.
