Well I made it. Today I officially am old enough to
retire. Got prostate cancer not beat yet but got it
by the short hairs. Actually threw away most of the
meds and have felt better for more than a year now.
Which brings up the question Why do all those back
door doctors have fingers that look like baseball
bats?

Congratulation on your Birthday. Hope you have many more.
I also had prostate cancer A few years ago. I had 3 choice to make, I took the radiation, 42 trips.
5 days A week, same time each day. only took about 12 to 15 minutes. When I had finish my PSA was 0.025.
So far so good.

Good luck.

When my BIL was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I asked him "which do you love more, your prostate or your cigarettes?" He didn't give me an answer. He now has a clean bill after his treatment, but he hasn't given up the cigs.

Me Too. celebrating my 28th year of being 39, HeHe.
Enjoy your day, I have to put a new set of tracks on my Kubota trackhoe if it doesn't rain. If it rains, I have to finish a complete overhaul of the engine on my Case 310 dozer. Had to go to the son's house this morning, as he had no water.
Once you retire you don't have any time for retirement.

I doubt the smokes gave him the prostrate cancer, a pretty good old Doc told me years ago that any man that does not die of something else will eventually succumb to prostrate cancer.

I got to be one of first for Toma Therapy radiation machine- they found one minor weakness in the equipment with my and one other guys treatment- the gurney deflects when overloaded and targeting is lost. Lot less burning than Linac machine, "weakness afterwards for 6 months" is now "weakness for up to year plus". PSA is still below 1 after 7 years, odds are I"ll be around a few more years to aggravate the politicians.
Old friend"s daughter getting radiation and chemo after getting some bits and pieces snipped, I give her some therapy advice that her docs approve of, cheaper than their rehab clinic and works better for her. Mental therapy for her is "So your dad died of lung cancer, you can quit smoking now since you see what happens, learn to breath"-- she has cut down a lot. Cancer is tolerable if caught early, bunch of people still around after the ray gun treatments, cocktails, knife work--and we can joke or cry about it. RN

Congratulations on making it his far. If you want a proctologist with a smaller finger, look for an oriental doctor. I have never seem those doctors with big hands.

Congratulations on making it this far! If you think you have a lot to do at home now, just wait until you actually retire!

I suppose there are female proctologists, but then you've got the creepiness factor to deal with.

Glad you're staying ahead of the prostate cancer. Just had my PSA done the other day, 1.91, so I guess I'm still good to go.

My Doctor is a good friend and hunting Buddy. Right before He gave Me My last prostate exam I told him I was not sure if would better if a total stranger did that instead of a friend. He told Me as long as neither one of us "smiled" it was alright. Couldn't argue with that.
