Rhubarb Crumb pies

My wife made two rhubarb crumb pies today for our daughter's 60th birthday tomorrow. She was born at Ft Bragg NC while I was in the Army during the Korean War. The cost for that birth was $5.25.
She never married or had any children. She has her own home near Towson, MD. She's a nurse
practitioner in the GS-15 pay scale. Hal

Looks like its gonna be a great birthday, havent seen one like that since my grandma made them, probably around 1975 or so

I've been looking at the rhubarb in the garden and I think I'm going to harvest some today. My mom made the best rhubarb pies and taught my wife how to. NOT rhubarb/strawberry! This is my favorite pie!
 
Rhubarb is my favorite pie. Just put in some new plants last year to freshen up the supply. The old ones got shaded out and I somehow did not realize it. Sounds like a great birthday for somebody! Enjoy your family.

My late mom made the best butterscotch and coconut cream pies. Not sure what happened to the recipes. She made the coconut cream pie when we got married in 1953 and I was in the Army at Ft Bragg. Hal
