Crapsman weedeater, rope broke, replaced rope but once I put the two halves together the rope will not pull. I have tried putting it together with the rope fully extended or not extend at all - neither works. When putting together with the rope fully extended, it rewinds but then won't pull?????

Are you sure you put the spring in the right direction? It's got to coil in the same direction as the pulley turns to start. I put the pulley in with a few turns on the spring and see how much it rewinds. Then add one turn at a time till it has enough to pull the rope all the way in. Sometimes they give you a notch for the rope in the pulley rim or you can lift the pulley enough to put a turn on it.
