Somehow, I got to wondering how many people regularly visit this site - Do you have a "rough" number?
Sure have met a lot of good YT'ers here and in person whenever we can meet.

Is there a way of knowing how many visit, if they don't participate? Possibly there are some who wish to remain anonymous. Some time ago, an individual who felt burned by some of the advice he got on here, e-mailed me to thank me for clarifying an issue.

Jim , the following info was just copied from the main index page in modern view. Hope this gives you some kinda idea.

Our users have posted a total of 3090036 articles
We have 105799 registered users
The newest registered user is ****
In total there are 108 users online :: 11 Registered, 2 Hidden and 95 Guests [ Administrator ] [ Moderator ]
Most users ever online was 375 on Tue Nov 19, 2013 4:39 pm

SweetFeet , It's a registered user that has chosen to not have their handle show up in the list of users currently online, therefore they show up as online but their handle is hidden.

BTW a guest has limited privileges and also anyone can post using an unregistered handle. Meaning you can pose as someone else, a practice that could be prevented if the owners would require only registered users to post, but allowing a guest to read the board.

Geesh, too funny... I just went and looked at my
profile and I was a hidden user. Heck, didn't even
know I WAS hiding!! LOL.

I'm sure by the time I learn everything about this
site - they will change it. :)
 
I used to be an admin on a collectibles forum. There's an incredible amount of data available to the admins. The owner of the site I was affiliated with was most concerned about the average number of page views per month, and viewer sessions of 20 minutes or more. Those stats enabled him to sell banner ads that kept the site free for members.
As a moderator that was heavily involved in creating interesting and informative weekly and monthly features, I often checked the viewer stats for specific topics to gauge what our members were interested in.
The membership on that site was just a fraction of what they have here. It was approaching the 15,000 range. Page views were averaging well over 400,000 a month and user sessions of 20 minutes or more averaged over 130,000 a month. Not bad for a little forum like that.

IF you have never logged into the Modern View, you might need to do that in order to see your profile (can't remember for sure).
