Who built The JD 2320 swather?

Looked at a 2320 JD swather yesterday 1983 model, with very low hours. Only 740hrs , and looks like new. Where they built by MacDon and badged JD. I think that I would like this unit for cutting hay. Thanks for any insight. Bruce

IIRC JD SP Windrower's were built by JD. Diesel engines were JD 4 cyl(300 series) and gasoline engines were built by Chrysler.

Mac don did build some JD swathers,the neighbor has one.I will have to check the model & get back to you.

I don't know about the the 2320 but my 2360 was built by Macdon. Mine has the JD diesel engine option but they could also have the 225 Chrysler gas engine. You can see my 2360 at work last fall here

The 2320 was made by John Deere, there was a 2420 as well that had a diesel motor. I had a 2320 for about 20 years, it was a decent machine. Sometimes levelling the header was a bit of a bear and the little steering links under the platform would go out, probably not available from JD anymore but easy to make replacements.

The 2360 like Rusty's was the successor to the 2320, and completely different design.
