I got tired (OK, so lazy) of having to unlatch or latch the fold of the door each time I took stuff in or out. Cobbed this little gizmo up. For your entertainment......
Auto latch

Great video! - loved the nuclear explosion.

Looks like a fun project. Especially trying to get all the relay logic figured out properly.

Must have been satisfying seeing it actually work.

Truth be told, you're looking at the "Rev. B" model. The Rev A attempted to use too many 120 volt relays (which I had a surplus of) and was too complex. It took about a week of about an hour each night sketching the logic out. Each time I thought I had it I later realized "Wait a minute; That won't work because of...". Even then I had one receiver literally blow up because I wasn't using my head on the power supply (tried to simplify it and wound up out smarting myself).

Believe me - I FULLY appreciate how tough it is get that kind of stuff straight!

I think I'd need at least a Rev. G or H.

Looks great ...I'm sure that took a lil head scratching ...how long had you been thinkin about that before actually biting the bullet...??? I also like the bugs bunny background music ...

I was thinking about it the first time I cranked that handle. The factory sells an optional power latch but it is about 1k delivered. That's not much, as things go, but if you don't have the scratch its a moot point. The sound track is a clip from 'Powerhouse' written by Randolf Scott back in the 30's I think.
